photoblog image frosty cuillin dawn

frosty cuillin dawn

As I am about to head off to the mainland and visit friends and relations for a couple of weeks, I shall leave you with this frosty morning view of the Cuillin, and look forward to next year and continuing communicating with all of you who have become so important to me this year. I thank you so much for all your kind words of help, encouragement and praise, and hope one day to meet as many of you as I can!

David from the Hebrides: Many thanks as always Jose. Your words are absolutely everything to me- the very reason I blog at all.

David from the Hebrides: Thanks for the praise, Rab! Unusually for me I even used a tripod here, and after 15 minutes my hands were numb!

Not at all bad for a snap taken hastily from inside a car - window rolled down/up quickly to keep in the warmth! wink

It's truly beautiful, and a lovely picture.

Happy Christmas to you and yours, see you in 2008.
David from the Hebrides: Ha! I even used a tripod here, the metal was freezing and after about 15 minutes I had to stop as my fingers were numb!
Festive greetings to you and your lot too, and hope to see you at the SC AGM! wink

Wow David, if this is the last shot you post in 2007 then you've left it on a goodun!
This is the sort of shot that I'd faff (sp) about for ages trying different crops and B&W to see what looks best, or maybe get 2 or 3 pictures from. Wonderful shot David.
Have a great Christmas break smile

My new years resolution is to actually post something grin
David from the Hebrides: Thanks Andy- I'm dying to see the first results from the E-1 and hope you get use out of the disks I sent you yesterday.
I admit to faffing a bit myself on this, mostly blending two different exposures together.

Super shot, David, great atmosphere, so was well worth falling out of bed early to capture this!
Years since I've been to Skye - I had the wettest camping weekend of my life there once! This is beautiful and hugely evocative.

Magical. The contrasts make the picture, shade and light, soft frost and hard rock, flat and slope, solid and airy. There is so much to look at here and it all has a peaceful but powerful atmosphere. For me it is the tree that makes it. It adds a lightness amongst the solidity that draws my eye. Great shot.
