Yet another for my possible "abandoned boats" collection- personally, this is one of my favourites. No new images for a while as I'm off for a week, taking a serious bag of kit and driving round every inlet, harbour, landing and pier in the Outer Hebrides taking as many shots as possible to complete this series. "Talk" again next week!

This well-known beach on the Isle of Skye, which is probably the only one of sandy colour, is actually not sand, but consists of tiny pieces of coral. One day, I may try a macro shot, as it is fascinating! The foreground is filled with a lobster creel, probably washed up in the recent storms. Not my usual quality, because, once again, I forgot to reset the ISO back to 100.

I usually fill this space with a bit of information and light-hearted comment, but that wouldn't be appropriate here. When I have been travelling all over the Hebridean Islands to photograph these abandoned boats, they have usually been tied up after their final trip with ropes like these, which are now fading and redundant. I find these images to be incredibly poignant, and hope they convey to you viewers something about the demise of these fine old craft.
